Veteran filmmaker/director Gutta Bapineedu Chowdhary is no more. The director who reportedly was ill for some time, he passed away in the early hours of Tuesday at his residence in Hyderabad.
The 86-year-old director produced many films and had a long association with Chiranjeevi as he directed several blockbuster films like Maga Maharaju, Magadheerudu, Khaidi No.786 and Gang Leader.
He was born on September 22, 1936 in Eluru and began his career as an editor of a magazine Vijaya. He later produced films like Mahanagaramlo Mayagadu, Bhaaryamani, Khaidi No 786, Hero, Valu Jada Tolu Beltu, Gang Leader, Big Boss, Maga Maharaju, Naku Pellam Kavali, Patnam Vachina Pativratalu and many others. The film fraternity expressed shock at the sudden demise of the senior filmmaker of the Telugu film industry.
