Fire breaks out in Yesvantpur – Tatanagar Express

Fire broke out in the Yesvanthpur-Tatanagar Express train today around 2 am in Andhra Pardesh’s East Godavari district. The fire erupted from Pantry Car of the running train near Gollaprolu railway station.

The pantry car was completely shattered in the fire. No casualities have been reported as of now, but the trains in Andhra were delayed. The trains delayed were Yesvantapur-Howrah Duronto Express, Tirupati-Puri Express, Secunderabad-Howrah Falaknuma Express, Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Godavari Express, Secunderabad- Visakhapatnam Duronto Express, Chennai Central- Puri Express, and Secunderabad-Bhubaneswar Visakha Express.

The train was heading to Jamshedpur in Jharkhand from Bengaluru. On noticing that the pantry car was blazed with fire, the train was immediately brought to the half and the pantry car was detached from the rest if the train to prevent the blaze from spreading. As a precautionary measure the S1 coach, which is adjacent to the pantry car was also detached.

A coach was attached at the Visakhapatnam to accommodate the passengers from S1 coach. Officials said that the normal train movement was restored in Rajahmundry- Visakhapatnam section by 6 am.
