After the services from Ameerpet to Hi-tech City route, the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) is now focusing to complete the works on Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) to Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) by September 2019.
The 10 km stretch is a part of Corridor II that is from JBS to Falaknuma. There are eight stations on the JBS- MGBS route and the works have been going on at the brisk pace on this route. A senior official from HMRL said, all the works pertaining to viaduct construction are completed and at present, station works including roofs are being executed. Save for Chikkadpally and Narayanguda, the arms at one end of the stations are nearing completion.
After the launch of services from Ameerpet- Hitec City route, the 56 kms of Metro operations are making Hyderabad Metro the second largest Metro in the country after Delhi Metro.
Nearly 2.2 lakh passengers are travelling in the Metro services every day, it is estimated that 40,000 people are travelling on the Ameerpet-Hitec City route. The Metro officials are expecting heavy rush on the JBS-MGBS route once the services begin.
