Samsung Smart TV’s to support iTunes

In a collaboration, Samsung has announced that it will offer iTunes movies and TV shows and Apple Airplay 2 support in the year 2019 smart TVs models are beginning this spring season.

If you buy movies or TV shows from Apple’s iTunes store, you can watch it on latest Samsung TVs without connecting it to the Apple TV box.  The company announced that “In an industry, for the first time a new iTunes Movies and TV show apps will debut only on Samsung Smart TVs in more than 100 countries. The Airplay 2 support will be available on Samsung Smart TVs in the 190 countries worldwide.”

The 2018 Samsung Smart TVs will support via firmware update. The new iTunes Movies and TV shows apps on Samsung Smart TVs. Customers can access their existing iTunes library and brows the iTunes store to buy the selection of hundreds of thousands of movies and TV episodes including the largest selection of 4k HDR movies.

Won-Jin Lee, the Executive Vice President, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics said, “We pride ourselves on working with the top industry leaders to deliver the broadest range of content services to our smart TV platform.”  

Adding to that he said, “Bringing more contents, value and open platform functionality to Samsung TV owners and Apple customers through iTunes and Airplay is ideal for everyone.” The Airplay 2 will support the Samsung customers will be able to effortlessly play videos, podcasts,music,photos and more Apple devices directly to the entire range of Samsung Smart TVs.

A senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services at Apple, Eddy Cue said, “We look forward to bring the iTunes and Airplay 2 experience to even more customers around the world through Samsung Smart TVs.”
